Transmitter for the Bullard T3 and T4
Thermal Imager User Manual
Transmitter - Two Channels
Attaching the Wireless Remote Video Transmitting
Handle to the Bullard T3 and T4:
The Bullard T3 and T4 Thermal Imager can be equipped
with an optional wireless remote transmitter. The
transmitter is housed in a convenient handle. To attach the
handle to the T3 or T4, simply align the handle so that the
handle brackets cradle the T3/T4 just under the display and
the electrical contacts on the handle align with
corresponding contacts on the T3/T4 (Figure 1). Turn the
thumbscrew until tightened and the handle is fully secured.
To disconnect the transmitter handle, loosen the
thumbscrew and remove the handle from the T3/T4.
Using the Wireless Remote Video Transmitting Handle:
The transmitter sends a signal to a remote receiver, which
connects to any TV or VCR. The receiver can be powered by
either a 220 volt AC adapter or a 12 volt DC adapter. The
wireless remote transmitter can be set to transmit on one
of two channels depending on the system you have. This
feature allows incident commanders the opportunity to
monitor multiple Bullard Thermal Imagers being used at
the same site.
Selecting the Transmitting Channel: The Bullard T3/T4
Transmitter can transmit on multiple frequencies. To set
the channel option in your Bullard Thermal Imager, turn
the channel indicator knob on the handle from the Off
position to the appropriate channel. The LED indicator at
the top front portion of the transmitter handle will
illuminate indicating that transmission is occurring.
Selecting the Channel on the Receiving Control Unit:
TThe receiving control unit channel must be set to the
same channel as the thermal imager transmitter being
monitored. Select the channel by pointing the indicator
knob, located on the front of the unit, to the appropriate
channel.
NOTE
The two channel transmitter system designed
for the T3 and T4 use the same technology as
transmitter systems provided with the Bullard
TIx and are therefore compatible with these
systems.
NOTE
The electrical contacts on the T3/T4 that
connect with the transmitter handle may
require periodic cleaning. To clean these
contacts, use soapy water and a non-abrasive
cloth to remove dirt and soot, or a cotton swab
and isopropyl alcohol. Rubbing a pencil eraser
on the contacts is another effective, non-
abrasive means to clean the contacts.
